Lift Up Your Hearts

I was bemused (slightly) when I first heard reports of the comments from Pope Francis concerning the use of mobile phones to take photos during the celebration of Mass. The comments were made during Wednesday’s General Audience, but I, like the Holy Father, find it quite strange that people come to Mass and prefer to be taking photos to entering into the communal worshipping of God that is the essential element of what’s happening.

As a liturgist, I’ll be following his series of General Audience catecheses on liturgy and the sacraments closely. He is, in my humble opinion, off to a very good start!
