Pope Francis’ Address to the Curia

As is customary, Pope Francis addressed the members of the Roman Curia yesterday to extend his Christmas greetings to those who work to assist him and the Universal Church. As is also customary, Pope Francis’s address was more than a simple wishing of “Happy Christmas” – the address also unfolded the Pope’s thinking on the role of the Roman Curia.

As has been reported elsewhere, Pope Francis was forceful in extending his understanding and vision of the role of the Roman Curia, some of which will not be pleasant to hear for some members of that august body.
