Navigating The Ship

An excellent feature article in this week’s edition of The Tablet from Marco Politi, journalist, author and veteran Vatican-watcher, that takes a look at the papacy of Pope Francis as the fifth anniversary of his election as Bishop of Rome approaches.

Politi takes a look at the successes and failures – always from a sympathetic perspective – as well as the challenges that still remain and which many Catholics around the world would like to see addressed prior to the papacy of Pope Francis coming to end – however that might happen.

The feature is a very good read and captures, I believe, the reality of the situation of the Catholic Church at the beginning of 2018, and towards the end of the fifth year of Francis’ filling the office of Bishop of Rome.
